Ridge Gourd Dal
Another type of dal to relish. Ridge gourd cooked with lentils. Usually served with steamed rice.

Toor Dal / Yellow Moong Dal
Chopped Ridge Gourd
Green Chillies
Grated Coconut
Turmeric Powder
Salt
Lime/Lemon
1 Cup

Mustard
Cumin Seeds
Asafetida
Curry Leaves
Oil / Ghee

Method
1.   Cook dal with enough water in a pressure cooker (4 Whistles).
2.   Cook chopped ridge gourd and green chillies with a cup of water in a separate vessel.
Note:  You can cook both Ridge gourd and dal together too.
3.   Add turmeric powder, salt and mix well. Add the cooked dal and bring it to boil.
4.   Make the seasoning and pour over the dal and add grated coconut. Squeeze lime juice and switch off the stove.
5.   Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
