Brown Rice Ganji


Brown rice Ganji / Kusulakki Ganji is one of the staple foods of Kerala and Mangalore/Udupi. Brown rice Ganji is starchy and good for health than polished white rice. Brown rice with salt, ghee and vadoo mango is the best combination that is yummy especially when you want to have something simple!!

Brown Rice
Water
1 Cup
4 ½ cups
Method
1.   Wash the rice and drain the water. Add 4 ½ cup of water and cook in a pressure cooker for 4-5 whistles and simmer the stove for 5-10 minutes.
Note: You can dilute the consistency by adding more water before cooking. I prefer watery consistency. So I check in the cooker and add water if required and boil for 5 minutes.
2.   Serve with Ghee and Salt and Vadoo Mango (Midi Uppinakai) pickle.
