Cabbage Palya


Cabbage palya/ Cabbage dry curry is another variety of dry curry. Usually a side dish and can be served with rice and chapathi.

Ingredients


Chopped Cabbage
Yellow Moong Dal
Green Chillies
Curry Leaves
Turmeric Powder
Salt and Jaggery
1 Cup
¼ Cup

A Few
¼ Tsp.
To Taste
Seasoning
Mustard
Urad Dal
Asafetida
Oil
½ Tsp.
1 Tsp.
To Taste
As reqd.
Method
1.   Shred cabbage or chop them fine. Slit green chillies
2.   Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, let it splutter. Add urad dal and asafetida and do the seasoning.
3.   To this, add chopped cabbage, curry leaves and green chilles and stir.

4.   Sprinkle little water and cook on low to medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
5.   Add turmeric powder, salt and jaggery and mix well and cook for another 10-15 minutes.
6.   Mix well and switch off the stove.
7.   Cabbage palya is ready to serve.
