Cracked Wheat Pulav / Godikadi Pulav


 Cracked wheat also known as broken wheat which is a healthy and nutritious whole wheat grain. This dish is a one pot dish. Just replaced rice with cracked wheat which is filling and is a healthier version.

Cracked Wheat
Onion
Diced Veggies (Carrot, Beans)
Peas
Garam Masala
Salt
Oil

Mint Leaves (optional)
Coriander Leaves

Method
1.     Roast cracked wheat with a little till light color.
2.     Grind the above “To Grind” to a smooth paste
3.     Heat oil + ghee in a cooker. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
4.     Add onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
Note: At this point you can add a spoon of ginger garlic paste which is optional.
5.     Add the veggies, green peas and garam masala and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
6.     Now add the ground paste and stir the mixture till the moist content is gone.
7.     Add cracked wheat and salt to the veggie mixture and give a good mix.
8.     Pour 2 cups of water and close the pressure cooker and cook up to 3-4 whistles.
9.     Squeeze lemon (optional) and garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
