Double Ka Meetha

Double Ka Meetha is a bread pudding dessert of fried bread slices soaked in hot milk. A dessert from Hyderabad. Here is a simple way to make this dish. I have toasted the bread instead of frying it (healthier option J). Easy and a quick recipe from left over bread J

1.  Cut the bread slices to 4 pieces diagonally.
2.  Roast the slices to light brown color applying ghee.
3.  Soak saffron strands with a spoon of milk.
4.  Take water and add sugar and boil on a low flame till you get a syrupy consistency approximately takes 15 minutes.
5.  Boil milk on low to half of its size. Now add the soaked saffron strands and give a mix.
6.  Arrange roasted bread in a deep dish. Pour sugar syrup first all over. Then pour milk all over the bread slices so that it soaks completely.
7.  Now garnish with dry fruits and serve after it gets cooled and fully soaked up.
Note: Sliced almond and pistachios. Roast the bread on a tawa/skillet.
