Cabbage Thalipeeth

 


One of its kind, healthy and breakfast idea, try Cabbage Poha thalipeeth.



Thalipeeth comes from Maharashtra and traditionally breakfast recipe made using 3 types of flour (Wheat flour, Jowar flour and Gram flour), you can load any kind of veggies of your choice. Today I have prepared thalipeeth with cabbage as the main veggie. You can also add onion if you wish to.

Ingredients:

o   1 Cup Thick Poha (beaten rice)

o   ½ cup Jowar Flour

o   1 Tbsp of coarsely crushed peanuts

o   2 Tsp coarsely crushed Cumin seeds

o   1 Tsp coarsely crushed Coriander seeds

o   1 Tsp Red chilli powder

o   1 Tsp Turmeric powder

o   1 Tsp Sesame seeds

o   Salt to taste

o   1 Cup grated / finely chopped Cabbage

o   Few chopped curry leaves

o   ¼ cup chopped Coriander leaves

o   2-3 chopped green chillies

o   ¾ cup water (approx.).

o   Oil to make thalipeeth

Method:

o   Rinse and soak poha in water for 15-20 mins. (Soak poha with water just sufficient to soak the poha.)




o   In a mixing bowl, add the jowar flour, coarsely crushed peanuts, sesame seeds, coarsely powdered cumin seeds and Coriander seeds, grated cabbage, curry leaves, coriander seeds, green chillies, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt to taste and give a mix.




o   Now mix the soaked poha with the above mixture. Mix well. Add water little by little and mix. The dough should be such that it should be thicker than the Idli batter. Either pat the batter or pour the batter on the tava.



o   Drizzle oil on the Thalipeeth. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes on low to medium heat. Flip the thalipeeth and cook the other side till you get a light golden color.

o   Relish with ghee and chutney powder.
