Garlic Rice

 



Thank you Sujata Aparanji, my schoolmate for this recipe.

One of its kind, very flavorful and simple to make this garlic rice. We all loved it. I am sure all garlic lovers would definitely try this out. You can always use the more or less garlic according to taste, can maybe add or saute some veggies of your liking too. As per my friend’s recipe we need to saute onion, instead I grinded the onion.

Ingredients:

o   1 Cup cooked Rice

o   ¼ Cup Green peas

o   ½ tsp Turmeric powder

o   Salt to taste

o   Sugar to taste

o   Lemon juice

o   ½ Tsp Cumin seeds

o   Oil to saute

Ingredients to grind:

o   ¼ Cup diced Onion

o   3-4 Cloves garlic

o   1 tsp ginger chopped

o   2 Green chillies

o   ½ Tsp Cumin seeds

Garnish:

o   Finely chopped Cilantro

Method:

o   Set aside cooked rice.




o   Grind together the ingredients for grinding listed above.

o   In a large skillet, heat some oil and add the cumin seeds. Slowly add the grinded ingredients. Saute well, till raw smell goes. You can always saute chopped onion instead of grinding it.



o   Add the turmeric, green peas, salt and sugar(optional) mix well.



o   Add the cooked rice, lemon juice and mix and cook to coat the rice.





o   Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with raita.
